The making of a Gingerbread House

 

I make my gingerbread houses with the best dough you can imagine. Nothing artificial - I use butter, beet syrup, unbleached flour, sugar, and a lot of cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and ginger.

They spread a wonderful smell and feeling of warmth for the holidays - and you can enjoy eating every bit of the house!

I bake all the pieces and mount them with caramelized sugar. When the correct temperature and consistency has been reached I "glue" the pieces together.
Some parts can be trickier than other parts, here the roof is being mounted. The roof is on!
My houses have window panes as in the house below and curtains. Here is a group ready to be decorated!
